Questions

The practical details.

What kkamagi needs, sends, and keeps while you interpret.

What happens to my audio?

While interpretation is on, all capturable system audio from other apps may be sent to your selected provider, OpenAI or Google. Kkamagi's own playback is excluded, and original and translated audio are not saved as files.

Do I need an API key?

Yes. Use your own OpenAI or Google API key with access to a supported realtime translation model. The key is stored in macOS Keychain.

What audio can I interpret?

System audio from compatible macOS apps is included while interpretation is on. DRM-protected audio may not be available.

What Mac do I need?

A Mac running macOS 14.2 or later. Allow system audio recording when macOS asks.
